Black ice matter..
Earlier this morning I headed out to the compost, which not all surprisingly is located on the back side of our property. Going there I thought it was little bit slippery, but not to overwhelming.
Then I walked around the house to get to the icy pond in the side garden to feed the fish. Let’s say it was a little bit more slippery there, those pavers on the ground are not the same as around the rest of the house and garden.
Standing by the pond I noticed our freshly emptied garbage bin on the street: let’s go pick it up shall we.
Turns out the street is covered with black ice. One can go iceskating on it.
So now I realise our neighbour who looked all injured and crippled this morning passing our house.
Most likely, and thankfully, she is not, she was probably just trying to avoid to get injured. Which is a good thing considering she’s in fact is a winter Olympian.
So I guess today will be one of those days we’ll just stay inside and work on the house. Which is a good thing considering we’d like to open our B&B come March and we still don’t even have a staircase in our guest house..
